Environment ministry targets fake air quality data - NANJING, April 1 (Xinhua) An environment official on Wednesday slammed local governments which manipulate air quality data to meet national standards, as the environmental watchdog launched a supervision campaign to crack down on such practices.

SPC to issue environmental litigation interpretation - BEIJING, April 2 (Xinhua) The Supreme People's Court (SPC) will soon release a new judicial interpretation ruling on environmental tort disputes, an official with the SPC said on Thursday.

Industrial cooperation to feature China-Africa ties - BEIJING, April 3 (Xinhua) China and Africa face "historic opportunities" as the Chinese market for basic industrial materials is saturated while less-developed African countries are crying out for them, according to a foreign ministry official. "The cooperation will never be conducted at cost to the natural environment and long-term interests of Africa," he said. "It is rather something mutually beneficial, and a real integration of China and Africa's developmental demand."

Chinese reseacher reveals cause for sudden diversification of species - BERLIN, April 2 (Xinhua) Palaeontologists around the world have been searching for centuries for the answer to what caused the sudden diversification of species on earth at the beginning of the Cambrian Period. The search recently came to a close when a German-based Chinese researcher, Lin Na, found the reason has to do with niche formation and tectonic plate movements.

Starbucks goes green with ‘cups of love’ -  April 2, 2015, Thursday (Shanghai Daily)- Starbucks launched the 2015 Earth Day My Starbucks Rewards card set last Friday. It consists of a card made using environmentally friendly material with a reusable, light and portable tumbler.

 

Going green - Shanghai Daily | March 31, 2015, Tuesday - An environment protection campaign was held in Jiading Town with volunteers from 12 town and neighborhoods exhibiting plants. They gave out 3,000 free potted flowers for recycling waste batteries.
